A Facebook memory from two years ago popped up and reminded me of a moment that felt like a dreamābeing whisked back on tour with The Lion King. Itās an experience I had long let go of, but God had other plans.
I was an original cast member in the Las Vegas production of The Lion King, but over the years, I thought that chapter had closed. The scripture that says, āGod will give you the secret desires of your heart,āĀ (Psalm 37:4) became so real for me. You see, had I been asked to rejoin the show within the first 10 years of leaving, I might have thought it was due to my undeniable talentš. But when 11 years go by and youāre 46 years old, getting the call to dance in one of the most demanding Broadway shows everāyou know thatās none other than Godš.
I want to use this space to bring hope. So many people have dreams they think will never come to pass, but I am living proof that God can do anything. Touring with The Lion KingĀ for three months felt surrealānot only because of the opportunity itself, but because I fit into my original costumes! Meanwhile, my business was in the capable hands of my team. It was a season where I truly felt like I was dreaming. To add an extra blessing, 100 of my students, family and friends got to see me on stage in my final performance in Chicago!!
God DID that!
The message I want to share is simple: Donāt give up on your dreams.Ā Stay in a spirit of expectancy and keep your heart open. Manifesting is real, but so is releasing the outcome. Months before I got the call, I had written in my journal, āWhat if I went back on tour with The Lion King?ā I didnāt cling to the idea with resistanceāI simply let the thought flow and released it. This is a powerful part of manifestation that so many people overlook. When you let go of how things shouldĀ happen, you leave space for God to move in ways you never imagined.
This time of year always reminds me that anything is possible. One day you can be growing your dance studio, minding your beautiful Black business, and the next you can be dressed as a lioness on stage! Stay ready for anything, and be grateful for everything. Keep believing, because what youāve given up on might just be around the corner.
With gratitude and hope,Erin
