Black Girls Dance®️ is excited to announce that we have been recognized for our work by the Girls Opportunity Alliance, a program of the Obama Foundation, and will be awarded funding and programmatic support to continue breaking down barriers for girls! Together, we will empower girls through our upcoming Spring Concert on June 2, 2024 at The Harris Theatre for Music and Dance! With support from the Girls Opportunity Alliance, we’re set to make a lasting impact in Chicago and beyond!

Erin Barnett grew up in Chicago. She fell in love with dance at a young age and started taking classes at the historic Mayfair Academy of Fine Arts, then focused on her passion, classical ballet, at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts.

CHICAGO — A new holiday performance premiering Sunday focuses on the story of Mary with a greater mission to empower Black girls through the gift of dance.
It’s the joy of the holiday season wrapped in effortless grace and the magic of movement. For Erin Barnett, a dance career has led her through New York City, Los Angeles and Las Vegas all before coming back home to Chicago.
